2022–23 Mixed Level Belly Dance Class (Winter Session)
Join Miriam in learning about Middle Eastern culture through Middle Eastern dance! What Americans call “belly dance” originated in the Middle East from countries such as Egypt, Iran, Turkey, Greece, and Israel. In this class, teen and adult students will learn dance vocabulary from these cultural dance styles. All classes include a short lesson each week to help students understand the cultures that created the dances, but the format is playful, utilizing games to help reinforce the movements learned.
The six-week Winter Session meets from 6:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, January 5–February 9. Practice sessions will be held both in-person studio in the Ballard Postma Studio and virtually via Zoom. Children ages 12 and under dance free with an enrolled family member!
